Australia’s Cape York Region is located at the very tip of Far North Queensland. Remote and relatively untouched, this beautiful locale is rich with national parks, pristine waterways, secluded beaches and rich indigenous culture. It is also the perfect location for some of Australia’s most exciting fishing experiences.
What you can catch
There are an exciting number of different species available to catch in this region. The Barramundi and Mangrove Jack are popular catches in this region and make for some energetic fishing opportunities.
Giant Trevally, Queenfish, Blue Salmon, Tarpon, Barracuda and Giant Herring are found off sandy beaches and gutters and creek mouths. Whilst occasionally you can also catch Cod, Fingermark Salmon, Grunter, Flathead, Bream and Threadfin Salmon when fishing the creeks, coastlines and reef cays.
For fly fisherman, Golden Trevally are up for grabs in shallow clear bays, and when fishing the coral cays, Trevally and Coral Trout can be caught.

Your helifishing adventures will be undertaken in an R44, 3-seater passenger aircraft, which is the perfect aircraft for sightseeing and reaching those hard-to-reach locations.
