What you can catch
Fishing adventures are endless in the Kimberley’s. A cruise down one of the numerous river tributaries in the tender will find you on the hunt for that elusive Barramundi, or perhaps you might try your luck by dropping a line around the rock bars. Barramundi isn’t the only prized catch found in the Kimberley, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark, Bream, Queenfish, Salmon and Mackerel can also be targeted. For something a little different, try your luck at catching a mud crab – a real delicacy!

The Great Escape Charter Company offer an onboard helicopter dedicated to guests, just another thrilling way to experience the Kimberley Coast, capturing this extraordinary and enchanting wilderness from the air, or fishing that undisturbed location. The Heli-expeditions will delight you with phenomenal journeys to some of the most remote and hidden art-sites, land locked fishing spots, waterfalls, and swimming-holes.
Premium quality equipment including rods, reels, hooks, and lures are provided. All tackle is supplied on a replace if lost basis. You can bring your own gear if you prefer.
MV Great Escape is equipped with 3 custom designed expedition tenders. These smaller vessels are ideal for mud crabbing, fishing, and other adventurous activities.
Accommodation
Launched in 2006, MV Great Escape is a 26 metre, fully air-conditioned, luxury catamaran, custom-built for cruising the Kimberley Coast in comfort and style. With seven staterooms, MV Great Escape caters for just 12 guests on the Fishing Extravaganza Cruise and an experienced 6-person crew.
The Great Escape’s spacious open lounge area is an excellent place to relax after a day’s fishing. Indoor and alfresco dining areas offer both casual and formal dining experiences. The invigorating saltwater spa on the foredeck provides a refreshing break during the warm Kimberley days and lets you lay back in style as you cruise through this wondrous land.
