Region: Cape Range National Park
Situated inside the Cape Range National Park and only metres from the beach and the Ningaloo Reef, Sal Salis offers guests an exclusive “bush camp” experience that combines comfortable accommodation, personalised service and fine wining and dining.
Accommodation: Sal Salis
The camp offers 15 guest tents with eco-en suite bathroom. The tents are spacious and naturally comfortable – they are not intended to be 5 star hotel rooms in the bush so do not offer TVs, telephones, minibars or other modern appliances. The tents are designed to blend with the environment, situated back from the beach amongst the low lying coastal dunes.
The Main Lodge
The main lodge offers a comfortable lounge area with panoramic views across the reef and Indian Ocean, a small reference library with a variety of board games and a self-service bar. Dinning at the lodge has be designed to share together with fellow guests, enjoying seasonal contemporary Australian cuisine using locally sourced produce. The camp has been designed to operate in tune with its fragile environment – all of the power is solar generated.
Base for fishing
Sal Salis acts as an excellent base camp for those of you that are keen to fish the area. Ultimate Fishing Australia can arrange for a private fishing charter who operate out of Exmouth to assist you with your fishing expeditions. Depending on the time of the year and weather conditions, fishing charters may depart from Tantabiddi Boat ramp (a short 30 minute drive from Sal Salis) or from Exmouth Marina (located 1 hour drive from Sal Salis).
What You Can Catch
Sal Salis is closed from mid-January through to early March due to the cyclone season, however there is plenty of time for fishing outside of these times.
Ningaloo Reef and Exmouth Gulf regions offer a diverse range of marine environments, which is why there is such variety in the species of fish, such as bonefish, permit and giant trevally. Other species that can be targeted include barramundi, queenfish, tuna, giant herring, cobia, Spanish makerel, snapper and many more.
Fishing Equipment
